Artwork story
In Yam Dreaming works the seed of the yam is shown with fine white dots, while the colourful brush strokes represent the vegetable and its impressive root system. The desert yam has long been an important food source in Central Australia, found in woodland areas. Women often perform ceremonies to show respect for the plant and encourage its growth.
