Carolanne Ken

Carolanne Ken paints Minyma Malilu, a Tjukurpa passed down from her grandmother. It tells of Malilu, an elderly woman who followed her eloping daughter and dug a cave shelter near Kanpi with her piti (coolamon), and of the Anangu women who defied orders to bring her food and water. Large roundels evoke the cave and waterholes (pupu), while arcs and trails trace the women's secret pathways, combining bold brushstrokes with meticulous dotting.
