Janice Stanley

Janice Stanley paints Pantu, the salt lakes near Mt Connor close to the Northern Territory border. The lakes are part of the Seven Sisters creation story, in which the sisters ran across the country and shaped the land as they went. Janice paints them from a bird's eye view in a contemporary style. She is a third-generation artist: her grandmother Tjariya Stanley was a founding artist, and her aunts Alison Milyika Carroll and Renita Stanley are senior artists.
