Rhoda Tjitayi

Rhoda Tjitayi was born in 1969 in Pukatja (Ernabella) in the APY Lands of South Australia. Raised by her grandmother, she paints the Piltati Tjukurpa - the Dreaming story of a sacred waterhole near her country, depicting two sisters who travelled with their husbands hunting and gathering food. It is a story of deep cultural significance, passed down through generations of women and now carried forward through Rhoda's vivid, intricate works.

Now based in Adelaide, Rhoda had a large-scale mural installed at the Art Gallery of South Australia. Her work is held in significant collections across Australia and internationally.
