Teresa Punami Mula Pimangka

Teresa Punami Mula Pimangka (born 1963) is a senior Central Desert artist with strong cultural ties to the Seven Sisters Songline. She was born at Angas Downs in the Northern Territory and is one of seven sisters, each connected to different parts of the Seven Sisters creation story.

Her father, Johnny Mula, held Tjala Honey Ants Dreaming. Her mother, Ida Mula, carried the Seven Sisters Dreaming and passed these stories to Teresa and her siblings. Teresa later married Ken Pumani, son of well-known Mimili artist Kunmanara Milatjari Pumani. Together they have five children, and Teresa continues to teach her daughters the stories of her mother.

Teresa paints Seven Sisters Dreaming, a major land creation story. Her work uses flowing lines, constellations, and detailed dotting to map the movement of the ancestral sisters across Country.
