APY Lands Artists

Art by Farquhar proudly represents Indigenous artists from Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands which is located north east of South Australia. Covering over 100,000 square kilometers. The region is predominantly home to Anangu people, made up of different language groups, including the Pitjantjatjara, Yankunytjatjara, and Ngaanyatjarra. The APY Lands are known for their rich cultural heritage, strong community ties, and connection to the land.

The population of the APY Lands is around 2,000–3,000, with most residents living in small, remote communities including Amata, Fregon, Pukatja, Mimili, Indulkana, and Kaltjiti. Because of the remote location we send canvas, paints and brushes to our artists living in this area. Some of our APY artist do live local however and come into our gallery.
