Renae Nakamarra Nelson, born 20/12/1994, is one of our up & coming stars.

Renae is from Kaltiji & Watinuma Homeland in the APY Lands, South Australia.

She speaks 3 central and western desert languages - Luritja, Warlpiri and Pitjantjatjara.

From a young age Renae regularly watched her famous grandfather Michael Jagamarra Nelson paint. Eventually she started painting herself, being taught by both Michael as well as grandmother Manyitjanu Lennon. 

Renae is known for her vibrant paintings that depict the "Mamungari" or "Spirit Woman" dreaming, a story passed down from her grandmother Manyitjanu.
