George Hairbrush Tjungurrayi
About George
George Hairbrush Tjungurrayi paints the Ancestral journeys of Tingari law, connected to sacred sites including his birthplace, Wala Wala. His work belongs to the generation of Pintupi painters, alongside his brother Willy, Turkey Tolson Tjupurrula, Ronnie Tjampitjinpa and Mick Namarari, who moved away from narrative conventions toward visual languages drawn from ceremonial objects. His paintings are built from intricate parallel lines and interlocking motifs.
