Belinda Golder Kngwarreye

Belinda Golder Kngwarreye paints Alhalkere, her ancestral Country in Utopia. Her main subject is Bush Plum Dreaming, built up in layers of paint that show the fruit and foliage at different stages of ripeness. She also paints Atnwelarre (Pencil Yam), Kame (Pencil Yam Seed) and Awelye (Women's Ceremony), and more recently My Country works combining women's ceremony, bush tucker and the Utopia landscape. She learned from her grandmother Polly Ngale and her sister Janet Golder Kngwarreye.
