Delvine Pitjara

Delvine Pitjara is an Anmatyerre artist from Utopia in Central Australia. Sister to fellow artists Stephen Pitjara and Anna Pitjara, Delvine is known for finely detailed black and white interpretations of the My Country story.

Her paintings map the Country she is connected to, viewed from above. Interlocking lines, small marks and subtle shifts in tone show sandhills, watercourses, campsites and areas of ceremony. The restrained black and white palette highlights the structure of the design and allows the underlying rhythm of Country to come forward.

Delvine’s work suits both contemporary and traditional interiors, pairing easily with natural timbers, concrete, stone and monochrome styling.
