Maureen Nampijinpa Hudson

Maureen Nampijinpa Hudson is a highly regarded Warlpiri artist from Mount Allen (Yuelamu) in the Northern Territory. Born in 1959, she grew up immersed in ceremony, Country, and the ancestral stories that continue to shape her work today.

Her paintings most often depict Tali (Sand Dunes) and Seven Sisters Dreaming, expressed through rhythmic dotting, flowing movement, and layered earth-toned palettes that evoke wind across desert landscapes and celestial journeys across the sky.

Recognised internationally, Maureen’s work reflects deep cultural knowledge and a strong lineage of Central Australian storytelling passed down through generations.
