Justinna Napaljarri Sims

Justinna Napaljarri Sims paints her grandfather's Jukurrpa stories, most of which relate directly to the land. Among them is Napaljarri-warnu Jukurrpa (Seven Sisters Dreaming), in which seven ancestral sisters, seen in the night sky as the Pleiades, are pursued by a Jampijinpa man and by Jukurra-Jukurra, the morning star. To escape, the women turn themselves into fire and rise into the sky as stars.
