Valda Napangardi Granites

Valda Napangardi Granites is a Warlpiri artist from Yuendumu who has painted with Warlukurlangu Artists since 1993. She paints Mina Mina Jukurrpa, a women’s Dreaming site near Lake Mackay, and Ngalyipi, the snake vine that grows through that Country. The granddaughter of founding artists Paddy Japaljarri Sims and Bessie Nakamarra Sims, Valda continues her family’s painting traditions, with recent works exploring a spare black and white palette.
