Alice Granites Napanangka

 

Alice Granites Napanangka, born at Yuendumu station in 1958, sister of renowned artist Elsie Napanangka Granites & aunty of local artist Justinna Napaljarri Sims, paints a variation of Mina Mina, Sand Dunes, Snakevine and Pirlala (Bush Beans) dreamings. Alice has an incredible eye for detail and is extremely neat and thorough with her work. She has an excellent taste of colour and the pallets used in her dreamings are extremely pleasing to look at.

We are extremely grateful to be able to work with an artist like Alice, with the neutral toned and black & white works being our personal favourites. Just by looking at her paintings you can see how much care and time goes into each piece. 

Her most well known Dreaming "Mina Mina Dreaming Jukurppa" Mina-Mina is situated on the edge of Lake Mackaye On the N.T and W.A border. Mina-Mina is known for its sand-dunes Ngalyirpi (Snake and Vines) Jinti-Parnta (Mush Mushrooms) Desert Oak Trees and Muulji which has been there from the dreamtime and it still there at Mina-Mina.
