Artwork story
Sarrita King's Earth Elements works draw on the waters of the Northern Territory, the freshwater pools, rivers and soakages that gather inland and the salt water they meet at the coast. Growing up in Darwin, she watched these waters move through the Top End's extremes of season, tranquil through the dry months and then rising to remake the land when the wet arrives. The series reads this movement as a kind of language written across the ground, layers of dotting and fine lines standing in for the paths water carves and the pools it leaves behind.
