Art by Farquhar is a specialist Aboriginal art gallery in Adelaide, South Australia. We ship original paintings from Central Desert and APY Lands artists directly to collectors across the United States, and the USA is our biggest overseas market, with more than 40 orders sent to American buyers so far.
We work with our artists and their families directly. Every painting is an original, and every one comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
How shipping to the USA works
Shipping to the USA is free. Paintings are sent unstretched, rolled in a protective tube, with express tracked delivery and a signature on arrival. You'll get tracking updates by email from the day it leaves our gallery.
Shipping rolled is the safest way to send a canvas overseas, and it keeps the painting's size free from oversized freight costs. Once it arrives, any local framer can stretch it or frame it for you.
Import tax
As of November 2026, there is no import tax on original paintings coming into the USA.
Paying in US dollars
You can view prices and pay in US dollars at checkout, by card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Select USD in the currency selector at the bottom of any page.

Aboriginal art in US collections
The Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection at the University of Virginia is the only museum in the United States dedicated to Indigenous Australian art. The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York holds Aboriginal works in its Oceania galleries, and the San Antonio Museum of Art holds a significant collection gifted by collectors May and Victor Lam.
