Rosemary Petyarre

Rosemary Petyarre paints the stories she inherited of her land's bush tucker, medicine plants and native animals, along with important women's stories. Her work ranges from traditional iconography to blossoming plant life in vibrant colour. She began with batik before moving to acrylic on canvas, and was among the Anmatyerre women at the forefront of the Utopia art movement. She is the sister of Greeny Purvis Petyarre.
