About Renae Nakamarra Nelson

Renae Nakamarra Nelson, born 20/12/1994, is one of our up-and-coming stars. She is from Kaltiji & Watinuma Homeland in the APY Lands, South Australia. Renae speaks three central and western desert languages, Luritja, Warlpiri, and Pitjantjatjara.

From a young age, Renae regularly watched her famous grandfather, Michael Jagamarra Nelson, paint. Eventually, she started painting herself, learning from both Michael and her grandmother, Manyitjanu Lennon.
