Women’s Dreaming & Ceremony

This curated collection brings together a selection of artworks inspired by women’s Dreaming stories and ceremonial traditions from the Central Desert and APY Lands. Themes such as Minyma Kutjara (Two Women Dreaming), Minyma Malilu, Awelye (Women’s Ceremony), and stories connected to bush foods, flowers and Country reflect knowledge traditionally held and passed down by Aboriginal women.

Carefully selected from across several communities and artists, these paintings highlight the diverse visual languages used to depict women’s journeys, ceremonial sites and connections to Country. Through intricate dot work and vibrant colour, each work offers a unique interpretation of the cultural knowledge shared between generations of Aboriginal women.
