Rosemary Porter
Rosemary Porter paints women's ceremony, drawing on the dot and line techniques of the Western Desert. Horizontal and vertical stripes echo the lines of women's body paint, while rounded forms depict the echidna in Tjilkamata Tjukurrpa (Echidna Dreaming), a story passed down from her grandmother, alongside Minyma Tjukurrpa (Women's Dreaming). Her Country is around Tjukurla, beside a vast salt lake on the Western Australia and Northern Territory border.
