Print Reproduction of "Women's Ceremony" Michelle Possum Nungurrayi
Reproduced on premium canvas
Women’s Ceremony depicts important ceremonial gatherings and women’s sites from Country around Yuelamu in Central Australia. The composition is rich with layered dot work and symbolic forms that map pathways, meeting places, waterholes and food sources passed down through generations of women.
Deep blues, turquoise, ochre reds, soft pinks and earthy browns move across the surface, creating a rhythmic and vibrant landscape. U-shaped figures represent women seated on Country, while circular motifs mark ceremonial and sacred locations. Fine dotting suggests bush foods, seasonal abundance and the interconnectedness of land, story and family.
This artwork honours women’s knowledge, ceremony and cultural continuity, keeping alive the connection between family, ancestors and Country.
