Young Voices, Old Stories - Farron Furber Jampitjinpa

"My Country" Farron Furber Jampitjinpa 178cm x 120cm

At Art by Farquhar, we know that art is more than decoration, it’s connection. It’s memory. It’s voice. And right now, a new generation of Indigenous artists is rising up, carrying the stories of their ancestors into the future with brush, colour, and heart.

These young creatives aren’t just continuing traditions and they’re expanding them, shaping a vibrant and living cultural legacy. One of these artists is Farron Furber Jampitjinpa, born in 1992 in Alice Springs his family from Yuendumu Community.

Farron grew up in a family of artists, his mother, Julieanne Nungurrayi Turner, paints the Budgerigar Dreaming and Sand Dune (Tali) stories, passed down from her mother, the revered Maureen Hudson Nampitjinpa who paints Sand Dunes (Tali), Fire Dreaming and other various styles. Farron’s work is deeply grounded in tradition, but there’s something unique of his in each piece, a boldness that shows he’s ready to carry the legacy forward, in his own way.

His work is characterised by the variety of colour and how he uses it alongside careful thought out composition. His style is unique with several different elements from depictions of the Country Landscape, Budgerigar Dreaming, Sand Dunes and Water Soakage's. His favourite colours to use are reds, browns, yellow but also pairs alongside rainbow colours.  Farron continues to work with us developing his art skills and practices.
