Maureen Hudson Nampijinpa is a highly respected Warlpiri artist creating significant contemporary paintings with Art by Farquhar. Born at Mount Barkley Cattle Station (now Yuelamu) in the Northern Territory, she has been a vital contributor to the Central Desert art movement since 1981. Maureen began painting under the guidance of legendary figures including her cousin Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri (one of Australia's most celebrated artists), pioneering elders Paddy Stewart, Paddy Simms, and Bessie Simms, and esteemed women artists Judy Watson and Maggie Watson Napangardi. Their collective mentorship instilled in her a profound commitment to preserving Warlpiri cultural narratives through art.
